Central Towers Apartment Complex
HEA performed a detailed energy audit and implemented recommended energy conservation measures at this 23-story, 308 unit apartment complex. The building’s thermal envelope was evaluated as well as fuel and energy usage. HEA provided estimates of annual energy savings, options for improvements, and paybacks and benefits. The recommendations were subsequently designed and implemented, leading to a nine percent savings in energy consumption and an 18 percent savings in energy costs.

Kennedy Towers
HEA designed complete HVAC and electrical distribution system renovations for a 21-story senior living facility owned by the Troy Housing Authority. The main challenge was maintaining building occupancy during construction, which was complicated by the fact that all of the building’s tenants were senior citizens, many with special assisted living requirements and mobility issues. Maintaining safe means of egress, maintaining existing building utilities and noise mitigation were all obstacles that were successfully overcome by carefully planned construction phasing.

North Adams Housing Authority
HEA was provided technical oversight during design and construction of energy-related capital improvements financed through an energy performance contract for four federally assisted public housing developments in North Adams, MA. Our work included technical oversight of the design documents, construction, startup, and commissioning. The majority of the improvements included HVAC modernizations.
