Data Center Hub
HEA provided M/E/P design services to upgrade a data center for a worldwide plastics manufacturer. The center required significant upgrades to serve operations in several countries. It includes a new UPS/PDU room adjacent to the data center as well as dedicated power feeders that allow for complete redundancy. The equipment provides dual feeds to the center’s existing 50+ racks, with capacity for future growth. HEA also designed the cooling upgrades for the project.
ION PoP Data Centers
HEA designed multiple the Point of Presence (PoP) data centers along with ION’s 2,200-mile fiber-optic network, which delivers reliable high-speed internet access to over 60 rural New York communities. Design elements included electrical service upgrades, electrical power feed, emergency generators, UPS and PDU systems, racking, point to point telecommunications wiring, and environmental cooling and fire suppression systems.
Veterans Administration Data Center
This project involved the design of a data center to serve the US Veteran Administration’s Northeastern US operations. The design included a high-efficiency UPS system, racking, PDUs, an emergency generator, building service upgrade, air conditioning, above-ceiling hot air collection, and a raised floor distribution system. HEA also provided plans for security layout, point-to-point cabling, and in-rack cabling as well as server selections and locations.
Colocation Data Center
This new colocation facility features redundant capacity components and multiple independent distribution paths. The facility features hot aisle containment design in an N+1 configuration, two pods containing a total of 40 racks with four computer room air conditioners (CRACs) serving each pod, in-rack containment systems with redistributed condenser water, a scalable N+1 UPS unit located in a separate power room, new PDU equipment, full monitoring capabilities, LED lighting, and a dedicated fire suppression system.
